ORGANIZE THE FIRST BIRTHDAY OF A BABY

Congratulations, your baby is going to be a year old! Soon, your little one will walk, speak and grow before you even know it. Although your baby's first birthday must be special, it does not have to be expensive and extravagant. Follow these simple tips to organize your child's birthday party.

Think small

You want to invite everyone to baby's first birthday, and you may be tempted by clowns, jugglers or magicians. But a simple little party will be enough. Your little one may be afraid of the crowd and will surely be overwhelmed by the ambient noise. Keep in mind that he will never remember his first birthday and that this one is ultimately, especially for you.

Plan a nap

Most one-year-olds take a nap in the mornings and / or afternoons, so try to plan the holiday by thinking about it. Napping lunch could work for some, while after dinner maybe an option for others. In addition, set a time limit. Around this age, all parties longer than an hour or two will probably be too long for your child.

Respect your budget

The average budget for organizing the first baby birthday party is between 200 and 300 euros. This budget more than enough will allow you a beautiful decoration, drinks and food, a gourmet cake, and why not some gifts for guests. Establish a budget, stick to it and do not forget to look for bargains on the internet as well as promotions offered in specialty shops.

Consider other places

In most events, your home is the perfect place to celebrate baby's first birthday. However, if your home or apartment is too small to accommodate guests, think of other places. If your child is comfortable in a noisy environment, busy places, a museum or a restaurant are fantastic options. When the weather is nice, the local park or even the zoo are also fun choices.

Define a theme

Children of all ages love a good theme, and parents too! Plus, these parties make great pictures. You can center the theme around a certain color or around a cartoon character that baby loves. Many shops offer lovely decorative items at an affordable price, you just have to make your choice.

Hire a photographer

You want tons of photos for this event, but you do not want to spend all your time behind the camera? Consider hiring a photographer. The photos will be beautiful and will offer wonderful memories. This will also avoid asking a friend or parent to take the photos, and not to enjoy this beautiful moment too.

Set up your menu

You do not have to spend all day in the kitchen preparing food and a birthday cake. Do simple things like sandwiches, salads, and iced tea for adults (perfect for summer). For the little ones, serve fluffy bites and other treats that will be easy to eat and fit with their diet. Finally order a cake at your favorite bakery or cake designer.

Decorate the party

If you are a fan of handicrafts or if you want to save some money, you can make the decoration yourself. Hang some photos of your baby that you would have taken during his first twelve months, using wire and small clothes pegs. The nice idea too is to hang some pretty baby clothes in vintage frames.

Forget the competition

Children's parties should not be a competition between moms. Forget what your sister, cousin, neighbor and friend did for her baby's first birthday. You do not have to compete with anyone in terms of activities, food or the cost of your party. It's yours, so do not think of others, and organize a party that looks like you.

Relax and have fun

Drinks are going to be overturned, there will surely be small incidents and maybe some kids will cry, but you should not worry. Relax and have fun with your baby. Birthday parties are meant to be fun and sometimes we are too caught up in the little details that do not matter. Put on some music, inflate a few balloons and enjoy the first party of your little one with your guests.
